What's up! If you're reading this, then you're probably wondering "who is this guy?", so let me tell you about myself. I moved to the Seattle area when I was 12 years old, and since then I have lived all over Western Washington. I went to high school in Puyallup at Rogers High School, and graduated in 2000.
I have always been a hard worker, getting my first job when I was 14 years old, working at an antique store called "The Cider Press". Shortly after starting at The Cider Press, I got a second job working for my father at Kentucky Fried Chicken. That didn't last long, as working for family can be... stressful; to say the least. So I got my first sales job selling VoiceStream cellular plans at kiosks inside Home Base (another Seattle relic). I worked there for about a year and a half before I moved back to California for a very short stint. That is when I started waiting table. I worked at a variety of different restaurants including Olive Garden, Red Robin, Ruby Tuesday, and a steak house in Vacaville, California that I can't remember the name of.
I got sick of working in restaurants, so I decided to get something a little more professional and went to work at Car Toys. If you are from the Seattle area, you know this place well, their television and radio ads run morning, noon, and night. I spent almost 5 years working there, becoming one of their top salesmen. I sold everything from car stereos to cell phones, and was very successful there.
That success lead to a job offer from a plumbing company called Rescue Rooter. I sold plumbing services and maintenances to local businesses in the Seattle area. It was my first taste of what I thought would be a life long career. I had a company car, phone, and salary that allowed me luxuries that I never had before. That success was pulled out from under me, and taught me a very valuable lesson: you can lose everything you've worked so hard for in a moment. So it was back to the drawing board, and back to Car Toys.
My second stint at Car Toys didn't last very long, because I got sick of working in retail. I wasn't able to spend time with family and friends over the holidays, or on the weekends. I busted my butt to make someone else rich, and I couldn't stand it. It was then that I made a life changing decision to go to college and get a degree. While I didn't attend the most prestigious college out there, I was able to get my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science in 3 years. It also allowed me to start working during my senior year of college, which coincidentally was with a company that built applications for mobile phones. Once again, I found my self working with cellular phones, this time I was helping to build applications for them, rather than the service & phone.
Since then I have found a career that I'm not only proud of, but one that I enjoy. I am currently working for Sinclair Broadcast Group (they own Komo 4 News in Seattle) as an Android Developer, building news applications. I am also working as a freelance developer, helping small businesses with any mobile or web needs they may have. There is nothing better than seeing someone use a product that you have built. I look forward to building more applications and websites every day! Hopefully I can help you build your dream too.
When I am not building mobile applications and web sites, I enjoy doing a number of different things. First and foremost, I love spending time with my beautiful girlfriend, Annabelle. Together, we enjoy trying new restaurants, going out to clubs and dancing, watching South Park, shopping at Nordstrom, and staying at home with our 2 pets: Archie, the adorable Boston Terrier, and Thomas, our naked cat.
Personally, I love watching Seattle sports teams. I am season ticket holder for the Seattle Seahawks, and I love going to baseball games and watching the Seattle Mariners. Occasionally I will attend Seattle Sounder games if I have a friend who needs someone to go.
I really like spending time in the city and showing friends from out of town around. I like to do "touristy" things like visit Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and other iconic Seattle landmarks. I really like to travel, and have goals of visiting places like Italy, Australia, and the Netherlands some day.
